Beethoven dedicated many of his greatest works to his patron, friend, and fellow-composer Archduke Rudolph of Vienna. Beethoven’s ‘Archduke’ Trio is his grandest and most exalted trio, and now one of the most famous ever composed. Performed on gorgeous period string instruments and our matchless Viennese Graf piano, you’ll hear the kinds of colors and effects Beethoven’s audiences heard. With a delightful rarity: a buoyant and elegant Trio by Johann Hummel, possibly Europe’s finest pianist of the time.
